Where
do counseling sessions take place?
All appointments are at Dr. Ronn’s midtown
office, located at 2020 – 29th St. (between T and U). There is free
parking on-site.
How long and how often are counseling
appointments?
Generally, counseling sessions for both
individuals and couples are 50-60 minutes long and are typically
scheduled weekly.
What happens if I am late or need to cancel my
appointment?
In the event that a client will be late for their appointment, they
should immediately notify Dr. Ronn’s office (916-760-0401). Your session
will proceed as soon as you arrive, making use of time remaining.
Notification of cancellation (for any reason) must be given at least 24
hours in advance of appointment or client is liable for full cost of
missed session.
What if I’m not completely sure that
I/we could benefit from professional counseling at this time?
To start, explore the possibility by committing to the first
session only. Your first session is the Initial Assessment Consult, at
which time Dr. Ronn will assist you in detailing the specific problem(s)
or concern(s) for which you are considering counseling, as well as the
outcomes you desire from the process. Also, Dr. Ronn will indicate
whether or not he believes he could be of help to you and, recommend you
move forward with his therapeutic services; or he may suggest some other
kind of intervention that he believes could be more helpful to you. In
either case, you will be equipped with qualified input to help you
decide whether to opt for counseling at this time, or not.
Can
I count on absolute confidentiality?
You have the right to expect strict confidentiality
throughout the counseling process. Without your express consent Dr. Ronn
is prohibited from discussing information that you share in your
sessions with anyone, nor do we even disclose that you are a client. The
only exceptions to this confidentiality policy are when necessary to
collect a debt you may owe us, or to defend against professional charges
you may lodge against our practice, or when there is credible indication
that you are a danger to self or others.
What does it cost?
Currently the cost for all sessions (including the Initial
Assessment Consult) is $75. Fees are payable by cash, check, credit or
debit card upon arrival at your appointment.
At the close of your Initial Assessment Consult, should you and Dr. Ronn
mutually agree to continue treatment, an additional deposit of $75 is
required to proceed, and is considered advance payment for your final
session (and may be used to settle any unpaid balance due over the
course of your therapy).
Will you accept insurance or bill a third party
for my counseling charges?
Each client is personally responsible for payment of all fees
for service upon arrival at appointment. Our practice does not currently
accept insurance or third-party billing. However receipts will be
provided you to document your charges and may assist you in securing
reimbursements from any applicable third parties.
